The history of the Jewish community in Rocky Mount extends back to the late 1800’s. The Temple itself was completed in 1949. The congregation has gradually declined over the past decades, leaving only 2 remaining congregants.

Part of our mission is the preservation of not just the building but the history.

Part of our efforts will be dedicated to creating an online digital museum for Temple Beth El.
